Banal as it may seem, keeping all the fragments of your files together makes a big difference when it comes to file access and performance speed.
Common to all iObit software tools, Smart Defrag’s elegant dark-colored interface will open up directly in the Disk Defrag option, showing a set of oversized buttons that we can use to launch as many defragmentation processes as disks installed on or connected to our PC. Depending on the disk type, each option will be clearly labelled as HDD or SSD, so you know straight away if the program will defragment or trim your drive, respectively.
The progress of the defragmentation and trimming processes is displayed using colors for each sector or file fragment, so that you can follow in real time how your programs, directories, and files are being moved around the drive to bring them together to reduce access times. Smart Defrag incorporates a feature that I haven’t found in any other similar tool – an alternate color mapping for persons with difficulties in perceiving certain colors. This accessibility feature is very easy to implement, and will surely help a number of color-challenged persons to enjoy this tool just like everyone else.
The other two main options available from the program’s interface are Boot Time Defrag and Game Optimize. The former will let you tell the program to defragment those files that were in use at the time of launching the defragmentation process, such as system, page, and hibernation files. The latter will optimize the gaming experience of any game of your choice. A fourth option, common to all iObit tools, is the Action Center, where you can learn more about other iObit products and install them with just one click.
Smart Defrag is one of those free tools we all should have installed in our computer in order to have all our files and programs always ready to launch without delays.

If you have the free edition, this is a downgrade of Free SmartDefrag, to keep full option you need tu purchase, otherwise is better to go back to the old 4.0 and you have about everything.
This is such a useful tool, I am surprised it's free. Like Lit, I recommend it.
Smart Defrag 4 - I miss the Automatic Defrag screen that showed CPU usage, Disk Drive Usage & Defrag History graphs. Was useful - sorry it's gone in Version 4.
